CHOOSE FUNCTIONAL AND WELL INFORMED LEADERS, JOURNALISTS CHARGED

The former TRACE Corps Commandant, Mr Ayo Sangofadeji has described a good leader as one that must be well informed with the ability to influence followers to ensure good leadership.
He made the submission during the Nigeria Union of Journalists [NUJ], Information Chapel valedictory meeting for the outgoing executive held at the Governor’s Office Press Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The guest speaker urged members of the pen profession to choose leaders who have integrity, commitment and are able to carry people along in decision making.
According to him, leadership comes with high responsibilities and must be able to accept constructive criticism, adding that negative criticism should also be accommodated by a good leader.
In her goodwill message, the Patroness of the Chapel, Deaconess Doyin Ogunbiyi, said a good leader must always set good examples for their followers, adding that they should make integrity and honesty their watchword.
Earlier in her valedictory speech, the Chairman of the Chapel, Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, said the journey had been challenging, advising members to choose credible leaders that would continue with the good legacy that the outgoing executive left behind.
Speaking on the achievements of the outgoing executive, Boye said members had benefited from Local and International Trainings, soft loan, welfare support, corporate identity to mention but a few.
While urging those that would take over the mantle of leadership to always welcome criticism from every angle, Boye said the achievements left behind will impact positively on members.
