THREE STOREY BUILDING COLLAPSES WHILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
By Olayiwola Ibrahim // An ongoing three story building under construction collapsed at No 1 Isalegangan street by Itafaji market around 10:15am this morning.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority LASEMA, responded to the scene of incident and conducted a thorough assessment as follows.
It was observed that structure collapsed on its own without external factor.
That the access street is very narrow and will be difficult for heavy duty vehicular operations.
Recommendation carried out by Lagos State Building Control Agency LABSCA, is carried is that the manual demolition of the few pillars that are still standing.
The manual site clearance will be coordinated by Lasema Lekki base so that the road could be free from the debris related to construction work before the collapse.
Members of the public are being engaged in order to stay away from the incident scene.
