Kogi to Construct New Bridges, says Finance Commissioner Ashiru as Igbo Community Honours Him

Kogi State Commissioner  for Finance, Asiwaju Idris has reiterated the commitments of the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration to creating a conducive environment for investors in the Stste.

Mr Idris gave the assurance in his office shortly after receiving an award of excellence presented to him by the representatives of the Abia Welfare Association in Lokoja.

The Commissioner who affirmed that security of lives and property is one of the cardinal agenda of the present administration said the Governor has assisted security agencies in the state with one hundred and ten Hilux vans to assist in curbing crime and criminality in the state.

He also stressed the issue of land acquisition will soon be transformed to enhance flexibility between buyers and sellers as well as the procurement of the certificate of occupancy which can be paid instalmentaly.

Idris emphasised that contractors are currently available to construct Shintaku bridge to link Bassa land to the State capital pointing out that the present administration will achieve a lot through  public private partnership approach.

He maintained that Kogi State Investment Agency will soon be inaugurated to create a smooth transaction  with investors without necessarily carrying files.

He thanked  Igbo residing in Kogi State  for their contribution to the development of the Stste stressing that the Abians are industrious and  creative.

Earlier, the president of Abia Welfare Association, Prince Lucky Adindu said the Commissioner was honoured based on his track record  and expressed confidence in his ability to improve the economy of the state.
