MINIGITIS: Kogi Immunization Officer Calls for Proactive Measures
Kogi State Immunisation Officer, Mr Amaje Nda Jhon has assured that an advanced level of information on health will soon be generated to assist government in its plans on health matter.
Mr John stated this shortly after the completion of training of five technical team of health officers across the twenty one local government area of the State.
According to him, those who undergone training on District Information Tools (DHIS), include the Director Primary Health Care Services, Local Organising Officer, R.I Data Officer, HMI Data Officer and Savings Officer which are expected to provide information on all health programmes and issues in their respective local government area.
Speaking on the outbreak of Minigitis in the country, the State Immunization Officer who disclosed that the State has not recorded any case of the disease noted that proactive steps have been taken by the ministry of health to make the vaccine available in case of an outbreak.
He also called for the strengthening of the primary health care services to make them to be competent on meeting with the health challenges of the people at the rural areas
