ICPC Director Kayode Urges Family, Religious Bodies to Join Anti Corruption Crusade
The Director of Investigation in the Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Offence (ICPC), Mr Dayo Kayode stated this in a lecture he delivered in commemoration of the Maiden Conference of the Oka – Akoko Province of the African Church held at Isanlu in Yagba East Local Government Area.
Mr Kayode who observed that individual in the society is a product of a home or religious organisation noted that the bond attached to both institutions should be utilized to tackle corruption.
He explained that there is need for behavioural modification which can be achieved through inculcation of morals scruples from home and religious circle.
Mr Kayode charged parents and religious leaders to be bold in speaking the truth and shun the tendencies to celebrate wealthy individuals whose sources of incomes are questionable.
According to him, the realisation of a ‘good Nigeria’ depends’ largely on value reorientation pointing out that, individual who crave for a change in the society should start from himself.
He also appealed to stake holders in the educational sector to intensify efforts in the aspect of civic education to rekindled the level of moral consciousness which the youths have lost over the years.
While expressing appreciation to the Church for finding him worthy to speak during the congress, Mr kayode urged the congregation to expose those who engage in corrupt practices to salvage the nation from its economic woes.
