Restructuring Nigeria is long overdue – CAC President
The President of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, (CAC), Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun has thrown his weight behind the call for restructuring the country saying it is long overdue.
Pastor Akinosun stated this today while speaking with journalists at the 20th anniversary and church dedication of Christ Apostolic Church, Salvation Centre, Fate/Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara state.
According to the cleric, there is a lot of cheating and inequality going on in the country and the only way forward is for the leadership of the country to ensure equal distribution of resources and positions. He averred that when this is done there won’t be any call for secession by any group in the country.
Speaking on the ongoing agitation by the Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) for Biafra, the man of God opined that, “those clamouring for Biafra were not born during the civil war else they won’t. I had some Igbo friends who after the war didn’t want to hear anything about war. Those who witnessed the horrors of war don’t pray for it, so maybe they didn’t know the horrors of the war.”
He however reminded the agitators that there was a memorandum of understanding after the civil war and if they are not satisfied there are better ways to vent their dissatisfaction and get redressed. The cleric who said he had no problem with the secession of the Biafrans reminded them that the country is stronger in unity. He stated that the blessings in the unity of Nigeria are more thanThey fragmenting the country. The
Speaking on the present administration in the country, the cleric acknowledged that the administration came into power at the right time. According to him, “They came into office at the right time. The work of fighting corruption is the work of God so they are doing the work of God, before they came into power things had gone from bad to worst. So the fact that they are ready to fight corruption gladdens my heart.”
Her however called on theThe country’s leadership to address the largely perceived lopsided appointments in the country stressing that it is also a form of corruption and if they are truly serious with fighting corruption it should be done from the root.
