Cleric Cautions Youth Against Fornication, Immorality

By Abideen Muhammed/
A renowned cleric and author, Dr Zafaran Adeniyi has advised youths to refrain from pre-marital, extra marital and amorous relationships, saying they are capable of shattering their academic and other noble dreams.
Zafaran who is the current Director and Chairman Management Board of the popular Vanguards Academy Ijebu Ode in Ogun State gave the warning at the Daw’ah Camp of the Muslim Students Society of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Lagos.
He said there exists a crushing impact and direct connection between illegal relationship and endangering of ones future.
“The youth of this generation are victims of frivolities like nudity, erotic music and illegal relationship. Hence, any student who desires academic excellence and greatness must shun fornication and its bye products”.
‘”I believe our youths can rise to develop themselves and face this challenge, but they have become vulnerable and endangered by many factors. The most serious one is social media – which has made them lazy and become what I tag ‘digital child”.
“The second challenge is the moral challenge. The society is permissive with nudity, drug abuse, cultism and fornication, unfortunately youths are at the center of all these. During our days, there existed only white and black television, and when you watch any film they hardly show scenes of deep love on the screen – you can only imagine it,”
The Director lamented that the present youths watch real sex and romantic scenes on television screen; the act that encourages them to keep sex partners by any means in order to practice what they watch.
He therefore urged the film making industries to inculcate morality in the making of movies to protect the youth.
Citing the just concluded ‘Big Brother Naija’, where real sex occurred as an example, the columnist said the dressing of modern ladies leaves no choice for males than to be attracted. And when they do, they go into fornication such that they see sex before marriage as a normal thing.
Dr Zafaran charged the youths to be mindful of their Lord. He said, “I believe God will judge everyone of us rightly because he has strongly warned us to shun fornication. You can avoid being tempted into fornication through judicious use of social media, he said.
He stressed the need for youths to arrange for modest marriages if they could no longer control their sexual urge rather than resort to fornication.
