Kogi Guber Race: Youths Resolve To buy Intent Form For Abubakar Idris

The Kogi West Youth Alliance have asked politicians seeking office to campaign based on issues and stay away from mundane sentiments aimed at distracting the electorates.

Temitope Olufemi, Secretary of Kogi West Alliance gave the advice while addressing newsmen at the Kogi NUJ today.

According to Temitope, the group’s resolve to drag Alh. Abubakar Idris into the Kogi State Governorship race is the wishes and aspiration of all the youth of Kogi west senatorial district.

The Youth Mobilizer said the decision to buy intent form for the would be governor of the state by the group is borne out of the desire to have improved life for the youths and the generation coming behind.

Temitope lamented a situation where few days ago, some desperate politicians possibly scared of the rising profile of Alh. Abubakar Idris would choose to malign his person, through a malicious and unsubstantiated publication aimed at blackmailing his aspiration, warned that the youths of Kogi West would henceforth not fold its arm and allow few disgruntled politicians rubbish the reputation and integrity of the family of Alh. Ibrahim Idris.

Temitope described the efforts of those wanting to truncate the dreams and aspiration of youths of Kogi state as an effort in futility, pointing out that the youths are mindful of the gains of having Alh Abubakar Idris as governor and would not be deceived.

Temitope urged the governorship hopeful to stay focus, harken to the clarion call, pointing out that no amount of blackmail should becloud his good intention for the people of Kogi state.

The Kogi west alliance said as a way to prove that the youths are vehemently and earnestly asking for Alh Abubakar Idris to run as governor, it is organising a million man match in support of his aspiration, and equally promised to help buy the Kogi State governorship nomination form for the aspirants. The group called on Alh. Abubakar Idris to listen to the several calls to salvage the state, and not listen to a few who are only noise makers.

Temitope urged political actors to think of ways they can use to garner support from the electorates and not make Abubakar Idris an issue, pointing out that he is by the nations constitution eminently qualified to run for the office of governor, most especially that he is academically, intellectually and emotionally competent to serve.

The Kogi west alliance said going by the records, the former governor’s son would be aspiring on his merit, wondered why he has become a night mare and the fear of those who do not have his pedigree to rescue the state.
