Flood Victims Sends SOS To Gov. Yahaya Bello
By Ola Simon, LOKOJA/Residents of Aliu Atta Road in lokoja metropolis have been counting their losses following the heavy downpour at the early hours of Tuesday the eighteenth of this month.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja, a resident of the area who is also the General Manager of Musbau and sons Motors Enterprises, Engineer Moshood Obanoso said the rain which resulted to flood has destroyed properties worth ten million Naira.
Mr Obanoso said he established his workshop in the area since ten years ago noted that people in the area gave never witnessed such incidence.
Recounting his loss, the automobile engineer explained that he is in charge of over thirty apprehentiship enlisted in the N POWER program stressing that most of the equipment given to them by the Federal Government have been affected by the flood.
He attributed the disaster to the construction of a sport viewing centre opposite Ava Hotel emphasising that proper drainages were not constructed for the flow of the water.
The Flood Victims appealed to the State Town Planning Boardroom visit the area and educate the resident on how best to address the challenges.
Similarly, Mr Jimmy who also reside in the area appealed to government to come to their aid adding that the water channel gas been blocked leading to the overflow of the water.
