Deltans Reject APC Guber Pry Election As Youths Write Buhari, Party Excos
.AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI AND APC LEADERS ACROSS BOARD
Our Esteemed Leaders,
Against the backdrop of issues ranging from intimidation, threat to
life, violence rigging and favoritism, which marred the conduct of the
Delta APC Gubernatorial Primaries, ANIOMA YOUTHS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE,
(AYGG) wishes to reaffirm its stand on the rejection and calls for its
cancellation.
As a people bound by a common heritage, identity and geographical
location, we express our grievances at the unholy and insincere manner
in which the gubernatorial primaries of the Delta APC of Sunday 30th
of September 2018 was conducted.
After serious investigations and from the gauge of public opinions
including APC faithfuls and loyalists, ANIOMA YOUTHS are of the
opinion that the position Aspirants of Anioma origin have taken in
reaction to the flawed processes of Sunday 30th of September remains
intact.
We can’t help but identify that unnecessary instances of favouritism
in the build up to the primaries were evident. We are also condemning
the actions of the panel chairman, Lawrence Onoja who turned down the
suggestions from Anioma Key players and aspirants like Dr Ibe Kachikwu
HM State Petroleum, Prof Pat Utomi and Rt Hon Victor Ochei
(gubernaorial aspirants), to postpone the exercise.
We state that everyone duly cleared and certified to contest was
entitled to equal opportunities and therefore sound it that the
conduct of the primaries was skewed by the National Chairman, Comrade
Adams Oshiomole in a bid to favour Chief Great Ogboru, and this in our
view as Advocates for governance cannot be accepted.
We also bring to notice, the recent expressions of the First Lady,
Her Excellency Mrs Aisha Buhari, which further lends support to the
clamour for the cancellation of the gubernatorial primaries, over
issues of imposition and non availability of a level playing field
which is against the tents of decent democratic practices. Her
Excellency had in a series of tweets, expressed grave disappointment
at the Oshiomole Led NWC for attempting to deny the people their civil
and moral rights.
We therefore, call on the President of the Federal Republic Of
Nigeria, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, Former Governor of
Lagos State and National Leader of The APC, His Excellency Asiwaju
(Sen) Bola Tinubu CON, Leadership of The Elders’ Council, members of
the National Working Committee, National Executive Council, Chairman
and Members of the Progressive Governors Forum, Party Leaders from
Delta State and Delta North Senatorial District, etc to revert this
act of injustice or APC risks being rejected by the teeming Youths of
Delta North Senatorial District and Anioma youths Across the
Federation who see 2019 as the year of rescue for the State and
consolidation of the gains of Buhari led federal government.
We do hope that this affair is treated with the seriousness it deserves.
