Police Quiz PVC-NAIJA Over Alleged Social Media Comments On Buhari

Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, the National Coordinator of PVC-NAIJA, a group that has been in the forefront of campaigning for free and fair elections as well as the needs for all Nigerians to access their Permanent Voters Card, PVC has been alleged to have step up criticism against President Mohammedu Buhari as the group was invited for interrogation by the Nigerian Police Force.

Last week, the group responded to an invitation from State CIID, Panti, Lagos State to attend to a petition of threat to life, written by Chief Dr. Kenny Martins.

According to Dr Akinyemi, the petitioner queried the rationale behind “my consistent “abuses” and “insults” of President Mohammadu Buhari and his aides, with biased reference to Mr Femi Adesina,”

Chief Martins also supported his petition with printout of posts from Dr. Akinyemi’s Facebook page.

“I went to Panti in company of my lawyer, Barrister Segun Abioro and the General Secretary of PVC-NAIJA, Mr Abayomi Agbede-Daniel. I was received with every dignity deserving of a bona fide citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigerian, by the DCP and her crew. I responded to the petition and query as demanded and was granted bail on self-recognition”.

“I must however keep the Nigeria public abreast of the mischievous and ploy by the undemocratic elements that holds the power and their errand runners who are contracted to distract us from the noble course to which we are committed. The enemies of the Nigerian State are hell bent on keeping our lips sealed, but we are determined to forge ahead”.

The PVC-NAIJA National Coordinator however reiterated that his group is not affiliated to any political party hence its mandate is to ensure the emergence of credible candidate through a free and fair democratic process. Dr. Akinyemi added that PVC-NAIJA has nothing against any candidate but call on all Nigerians to grab their PVC and use it according to their conscience in the next general elctions.
