AHMED, LOLA & RAFIU: WHO DESERVES KWARA SOUTH MANDATE?

The real election is fast approaching.  Less than four months left  for political candidates to face the reality and display  cash. Of course, the political game in Nigeria is being played with naira. One who has the highest bid gets more voters to elevate him just like we had in Osun and Ekiti States. In 2019, the voters await the looters with brooms and umbrellas to come back home and buy their votes. Shame!
Before the commencement of the general election in 2019, a  by-election that took place in Irepodun, Ekiti, Isin and Oke-Ero constituency area of Kwara State between Alhaji Raheem Tunji Olawuyi ( Ajuloopin ) of APC and Mr. Saheed Damilare ( Alatise ) of PDP was highly wonderful.  In fact, the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State does not believe the results and surprisingly, the outcome of the by-election have changed the already made formation of the Peoples Democratic Party due to the unexpected loss recorded during the election.
Magida and Rafiu are two political candidates contesting under a single party. Recently, the two contestants were  faced with the opportunity to share the same position and for real, that position could only be occupied by single candidate. Instead of conducting primary election, the leader from above gave the slot to Magida and therefore, Magida made the list while Rafiu was initially being kept at the bench. Few weeks later, the leader changed his decision again and switched candidates. He changed his formation suddenly and gave Magida’s slot to Rafiu. Now,  Rafiu is the Preferred candidate of the leader. It is only in Nigeria where some people sit somewhere and choose  candidate that will contest and the one that will step down.
Sarcastically, will the change in the choice of candidates award the Peoples Democratic Party  more votes during 2019 general election? The leader of  Magida and Rafiu should know better that there are no much differences between his two candidates. The two candidates have been in power without making much impact on the masses. Magida is being known for owing  workers while  Rafiu only embarked on  empowerment program and tarred road that connects Offa to his home town. Their tenure in office does not in any way favour the people who voted them in power. What a pity! Like Magida like Rafiu
Interestingly, there is a political candidate who has been on a cross carpeting zone from one political party to another from years back and yet has never been in power. His name is Arc Lola. Lola has been so eager to gain political power but indecision and inconsistency has been his major problem. Now, he is All Progressives Congress’ candidate to counter Rafiu. Probably, the giant leader of Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State changed candidate because of Lola’s strength. Who knows? 2019 shall tell!
Obviously, the electorates seem to have found interest in Lola for the fact that he has been on the track for a very long time. I think he has the charisma, he has vigour, self determination and other  qualities of a good leader. I guess he should be able to give the poor masses what they want if he is being voted into power. I don’t know if am guessing right here because no one can predict Nigerian politicians once they assume office.
The most funny part of this gist is that,  Magida who has been controlling  the State for the past eight years was suddenly reserved on the bench for   Rafiu to take over. I hope this would not be the end of Magida’s career. There is fire on the mountain for the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State this time around.
Let me just pause here but lastly, I want to use this medium to congratulate Rafiu for regaining the hope he had once overlooked. I want to tell Rafiu to double up because the coming election in the year 2019 might not be like the previous one held in 2015. I want to tell Rafiu that Lola is coming strong and healthy this time around.  Although  the votes is still with the electorates to decide. In 2019… We shall know the owner of the mandate. We shall meet in peace; not in pieces.
