Alledge $153.3m fraud: court adjourned arraignment of Fedelity bank M.D, others  to Jan. 14

A federal high court sitting in Lagos on Monday have further adjourned the arraignment of the embattled managing director of Fedelity bank Nnamdi Okonkwo who was arrested on Friday by the operatives of economic and financial crime commission EFCC.

Nnamdi was brought to court this morning in white EFCC buss by the operatives of EFCC alongside with Dauda Lawal a former executive director of First Bank. 
Arraignment of the two banks chiefs could not hold as a result of the absence of Lanre Adesanya and Stanley Lawson  who are been charged alongside the bank chiefs. 
At the reaume of hearing today before the honourable justice Muslim Sule Hassan,  counsel to the EFCC Rotimi Oyedepo told the court that all efforts to secure the attendance of 3rd and 4th yielded no result, he however asked for a bench warrant to allow the EFCC arrest the defendants. 
However Counsel to Adesanya and Stanley Lawson Ademola Adesina told the court that the two defendants have travelled abroad on medical ground before this charge was filed 
” If the court will be magnanimously allow me to bring the defendants at the next adjourned date.  
The court exceeded to his request and adjourned the case to the 14th of January, 2018 for arraignment. 
Paul okoroko  on his part pleaded with the court for the release of his client Nnamdi Okonkwo and he undertake to bring him on the next adjourned date.
But Oyedepo opposed the application on the ground that court has not assume jurisdiction to entertain any application bcecause the defendants are yet to be arraigned before the court. 
Justice Hassan adjourned the case to 14th of January, 2019 for arraignment. 
The anti graft agency dragged bank chiefs to court on 14 counts charge bordering on money lundering and conspiracy.
EFCC also allege them that the bank chiefs concealed the sum of $153.3m synphoned from the NNPC under Deizani Alison Maduekwe as a petroleum minister in 2015.
