“BE ENCOURAGED TO EXERCISE YOUR CIVIC RIGHT COME 23RD FEBRUARY 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION” – DIRECTOR NOA

With the recent postponement of the 2019 Presidential election from February 16th to 23rdFebruary, 2019; the Director National Orientation Agency (NOA) Lagos Directorate, Mr. Waheed Ishola had called on Nigerians not to be discourage but to see the postponement as an avenue for INEC to properly tighten up loose ends in carrying out a credible, free and fair election the people will be proud of.

Speaking on the activities of the Agency and measures taken to mobilise the people despite the postponement, in a Lagos Television (LTV) interview, monitored on Tuesday February, 2019 in Ikeja, the Director called on eligible voters with Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in the state to go out enmass and elect credible leaders that will govern them for the next four years as good citizens of the country. He noted that the Agency (NOA) in line with its mandate of sensitizing, educating and mobilizing the citizenry towards positive government programmes, policies and activities had been carrying out massive town hall meetings on peace and violence free elections, voters’ education and motorized campaigns across the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) of the State.

He urged all Nigerian citizens, Lagos in particular to quickly and promptly embrace any programme rolled out by the government for the good of the people. NOA, he said, would continue to sensitize, mobilize and re-orientate the people on the need to go out and vote despite the postponement till the desired goal is achieved.
