Why Presidential Panel Is After My Senatorial Seat, Says Senator Nwaoboshi

The Special Presidential Investigation Panel, SPIP, tasked with the responsibility of recovering looted government assets has been alleged of orchestrating favoritism memo as Senator Peter Nwaoboshi continually disclaim ownership of assets and bank accounts ascribed to him by the panel.
In a statement signed by Vincent Adoor, Special Assistant to Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, the PDP stalwart reiterated that the SPIP has continually waged media way against his person basically over his senatorial position
According to the statement “The attention of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has been drawn to the numerous press releases, particularly the Television broadcast by CHANNELS TELEVISION, on the alleged temporary forfeiture of properties purportedly belonging to him by the SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL INVESTIGATION PANEL (SPIP). Consequent upon this development, SENATOR PETER NWAOBOSHI once again deems it appropriate and necessary to correct the falsehood which the news presents”.

“First, all the properties listed and purportedly sealed does not belong to SENATOR PETER NWAOBOSHI. SENATOR PETER NWAOBOSHI states unequivocally that he does not own a single property in Lagos or Warri, as claimed by SPIP, and that the identities of the real owners will be known when the trial commences”.

“Of the 22 Bank Accounts allegedly freezed, only three can be said to be his. Two of those accounts are his salary account with UBA, National Assembly Branch. All monies that enter both accounts are his official salary, allowances and estacodes. The Third account is his domiciliary account with Access Bank. The balance in all the accounts listed by (SPIP) is less than (45,000,000) Forty Five Million Naira Only. Worthy of note is the fact that senator Nwaoboshi took a loan of (150,000,000) One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira on his salary account with UBA. This is verifiable”.

“Senator Peter Nwaoboshi wants the Nigerian People to know that what is ongoing is a personal fight and vendetta pursued by OKOI OBONO OBLA and his good friend and sponsor Hon. Ned Nwoko against him. The sole reason for this blackmail, harassment, intimidation and campaign of calumny is Delta North Senatorial Seat which Hon. Nwoko lost, and is presently a subject of litigation pending before the Supreme Court”.
