NOA/ LAGOS STATE SPECIAL DUTIES AND INTER-GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS PARLEYS ON ADVOCACY PROGRAMS

For proper synergy and better understanding of the workings and activities of National Orientation Agency (NOA) viz-a viz the Lagos State Special Duties and Inter-governmental relations, the senior officials of the ministry led by the Director, Inter-governmental relations, Mr. Bankole Adetola, on Wednesday the 11th of March 2020 paid an advocacy visit to the State Headquarters of the Agency in Ikeja, Lagos State.

 

Speaking on advocacy, the Director, Inter-governmental Relations, Mr. Bankole Adetola noted that the primary purpose of the visit was to interact, share experiences and know better, the workings/activities of the Agency and to equally sell to them the policies of the State Government because of its reach to the grassroot. As the supervisory ministry to the Agency, the director appealed for partnership, synergy more interaction and the need to always channel all request to the state through the ministry. He commended the activities of the Agency in the State in terms of its timely reports which had helped the Government with their policies.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Lagos Directorate, Mr. Waheed Ishola thanked the team for finding time to visit the Agency. He commended the officials of the ministry for making the workings of the Agency a bit comforting with the state support of quarterly intervention. The Director took time to explain the workings of the Agency as a three tier Federal Agency working at the Federal, State and Local Government Areas, with the mandate to inform, sensitise and mobilise the citizenry towards various Government programmes, policies and activities with a feedback mechanism for policy formulations. As an ombudsman Agency that prides itself on the trust of the people, the Director promised to collaborate and partner with the ministry in seeing that the good people of Lagos State are better served and carried along with the programmes, policies and activities of the government.

Highpoint of the visit was the exchange of information and educational materials by the two Directors of their organisations.
