Akosile gave the advice  during a courtesy visit by the newly-elected Executive members of the NUJ Lagos Council led by Mr Adeleye Ajayi.
He warned that media practitioners should go beyond the traditional way of doing things, or else journalism would go into extinction in the next five years.
He urged the union to channel more efforts to Digital Media Training of members.
“The Digital space must not be left for non-professionals,” Akosile said..
He further advised journalists in the state to be creative enough aside from journalism in order to seek alternative means of livelihood.
Responding to the call,  Ajayi pledged to look into issues raised and looked forward to more mutual relationship and collaboration between the union and the Lagos State Government.
He described Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as  media-friendly, always willing and ready to  assist the media.
