Allegation of Forged Email: Mr Adoke’s Complaint Absolutely Makes No Sense By Chubi Eze; ‘He who alleges must prove, and in this case, there is no iota of evidence that suggests that Mr Suraju was involved in any forgery’
His whole complaint is premised on a subjective assumption – that he always signs off his emails with SAN.
This is silly to say the least.
A signature can be deactivated at the touch of a button and any user of a free email service such as Yahoo (which Mr Adoke has always used for personal and professional purposes mbadoke@yahoo.com) can deactivate a signature whenever he or she feels like.
The absence of his signature does not mean an email is forged after all it is not even his email account so the silly SAN argument does not apply.
And in this case, the email originated from the account of a third party who obviously is not a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
It appears that Mr Adoke, being a naturally suspicious person, took great care to send the incriminating emails from the account of a third party, in order to establish some form of plausible deniability in case there was an inquiry in the future.
Technology is not subjective.
Emails have headers and hidden markers and if JP Morgan were subject to the laws of the FRN, a subpoena would have shown that the email was not a forgery.
He who alleges must prove, and in this case, there is no iota of evidence that suggests that Mr Suraju was involved in any forgery.
This is a farce and all sensible people must rise against this state-backed intimidation of one of the shining lights of Nigerian activism.
