COSEG, Students, Awosanya, Others Vow to Join Sanwo-Olu’s Peace Walk

By Wale Abideen/LAGOS// A self-determination groups under the banners of the Coalition of Oodua Self Determination Groups (COSEG) has assured the Lagos State Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu of its readiness to join him in the walk for peace he called for.
 
The state Governor has in his address to the state on panel report on the Lekki Tollgate shooting on Wednesday.
 
COSEG  in a press release signed by the group chairman, Dayo Ogunlana, in Mushin on Thursday assured the governor of Lagos State of the readiness of the group to walk with him on any day earmarked for the peace walk proposed by him.
 
Aside COSEG, a rights activist and member of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Consolidated Report on General Police Brutality Cases and Report of Lekki Incident Investigation, Mr. Segun Awosanya on Thursday said he will join Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the proposed Peace Walk, which is one of the steps being taken by the Governor to herald the healing of Lagos to bring closure to the last year’s EndSARS protests and the Lekki toll gate incident.
In a similar situation, the apex body of the indigenous students body in Lagos State, National Union of Lagos State Students (NULASS) on Friday said it will mobilise not less than three million of its members to join Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in his proposed walk for peace, healing and prosperity of the centre of excellence.
It stated that the intervention of Governor Sanwo-Olu in education has shown that he deserves the support of all the indigenous students for peace in Lagos State.
NULASS in a statement issued and signed by its President, Akinola Shasanya and Public Relations Officer, Abdulsalam Hassan, titled “Three Million NULASS members to walk with Sanwo-Olu to promote peace in Lagos,” said Lagos State deserves true healing after the disturbances that trailed last year’s protests against police brutality.
The students body said only the sustenance of harmony can guarantee the realisation of all indigenous students aspirations.
