GOV ORTOM’S FATHER INLAW DUMPS PDP DECAMP TO APC
A former member of the Federal House of Representatives and father in-law to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Honourable Prince Simon Aondona, in his Naka hometown today dumped the PDP and officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) .
Hon Simon Aondona, decamped alongside former member of the House of Representatives Dr. Godwin Ikereve, Gubernatorial candidate of the PRP in 2019, Rev Frederick Ikyaan, National Commissioner of SCOUT, Hon Dave Awunah, and Deputy Chairman of Gwer West, Hon Donald Andyar.
The plethora of lead decampees in their separate speeches, all cited failure of the Ortom led PDP administration to deliver dividends of democracy as the reason for their actions, it is on record that with over 7 years gone Governor Ortom has not commissioned any major project in the state, even the road to Naka his wife’s hometown which was a deathtrap is being constructed by President Buhari .
The decampees led by the quadruple of Prince Simon Aondona, Dr Godwin Ikereve, Dr Frederick Ikyaan, and Honourable Dave Awunah, clearly stated that it is on the bedrock of the above that they’ve taken the decision to join Sen. Dr George Akume, in the APC, the only leader who has remained resolute in the development of Benue State and Nigeria.
Receiving the decamped, the Chairman of APC Benue State Comrade Austin Agada congratulated them for toeing the line of honour and history, Agada enjoined the people to be deliberate in supporting the party towards reclaiming the state, stressing that only in unity and togetherness that a new Benue will be built. He urged them to remain steadfast in their support for APC.
The minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Sen. Dr. George Akume, Leader of APC in the State in his speech commended the decampees for keeping a date with history, as they join in the fight to liberate Benue.
He also enumerated the massive projects President Buhari has done for the Benue people and called for the people’s continued support for the APC.
The event was attended by Aspirants, Critical Stakeholders and members of APC.
