Ekiti SWAGA Disowns Adeyeye: “Chairman of SWAGA Chairmen Forum, Arole Kayode Adetifa, denied association with Adeyeye and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), noting that the only political party known to the group in Ekiti is the African Democratic Congress (ADC)”

By Gboyega Adeoye/Ado-Ekiti/ The Ekiti State arm of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023 (SWAGA), has passed a vote of no confidence on its National Chairman, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, over what is termed: ” lack of direction, vision and discipline to lead a successful campaign”.
The group, after a emergency meeting chaired by the Ekiti State Chairman of SWAGA, Sen Tony Adeniyi and the Coordinator, Prince Bamgboye Adegoroye, berated the desperate approach of Adeyeye to lingering Ekiti State governorship matters and his warped political alliances, considered to be at variance with the goals of the group.
It will be recalled that the former Junior Minister of Works under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), left the party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the sundown of last administration, using his political movement, Prince Adeyeye Movement (PAM), to bargain.
Adeyeye later secured the Ekiti South senatorial ticket of the APC, found his way to the Senate before his election was punctured in court and he was subsequently removed.
Rising from today’s meeting, the Ekiti SWAGA leaders condemned the desperate tendencies in Adeyeye’s style of politics, which they posited will not be to the eventual benefit of the group.
‘We need to state categorically here that the Ekiti State SWAGA has nothing to do with Prince Dayo Adeyeye in his misdirected political adventure. We disown a leader with no specified political direction. We here take exception to his deft political movements. The desperation has led to his rush to pick the APC nomination form, the failure and then the macabre dance to join a PDP, aspirant, where he now take solace.
“We have been sufficiently told that, now at his wits end, Adeyeye’s resolve is to use SWAGA to curry political favour for himself in his current destination.
“We therefore state categorically that we seize to recognise Prince Dayo Adeyeye as a member of Ekiti SWAGA and we have notified the Deputy National Chairman, Senator Rilwan Akanbi, of our stance.
“Our movement, the SWAGA, will not associate with any group or political party with no link with the progressive politicians, of which our Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu champions.
While we will not attempt to blame Adeyeye for choosing to go to where he feels his political benefits are, we can only advise that he should stay calm with PAM and stop laying claims to owning SWAGA. Adegoroye said.
Corroborating, Chairman of SWAGA Chairmen Forum, Arole Kayode Adetifa, denied association with Adeyeye and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), noting that the only political party known to the group in Ekiti is the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The only potent third force recognised by us in SWAGA, as offshoot of the shenanigans in our former party is the ADC, led by Dr Wole Oluyede. That is the party we all joined and plan to nurture to bequeath the leadership of Ekiti to us come June 18, 2022,” Adetifa said
And in a related development, the youth wing of the Ekiti SWAGA, has also taken a swipe at the former minister, Adeyeye, saying he is not competent to lead the group any longer.
The stance of the youth was contained in a press statement signed by its President, Ismail Lawal and Director of Administration, Jayeola Dayo.
The youth wing of the SWAGA had admonished the Ekiti State leaders, Senator Adeniyi and Adegoroye, to act swiftly on removing Adeyeye as member of the group in the state or face their wrath.

SOUTHWEST AGENDA FOR ASIWAJU.
(SWAGA) EKITI STATE CHAPTER.
(Ekiti State Youth Wing).
The Chairman SWAGA,
Ekiti State Chapter,
Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
WE REJECT PRINCE DAYO ADEYEYE’S POLITICAL ANTICS
Dear sir,
Re- Forming Coalition with Engr Segun oni.
Our attention has been drawn to a news alluding to the claims by erstwhile governor of Ekiti State, Engr Segun Oni, that SWAGA, Ekiti State Chapter, has formed coalition with him to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election. With benefit of hindsight, we are not unaware of the political macabre dance of Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who we learnt had ran to Engr Oni to lobby for Deputy Governorship slot in the ongoing bid to defect to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), one of the two parties once described as ‘two fingers of a leprous man’, by late legendary political icon and legal luminary, Chief Bola Ige.
As youth, operating within the SWAGA in Ekiti, who look unto our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as formidable pillar upon which we can hang our hope for a promising, laudable future, we hereby write to disassociate ourselves from this purported alignment to nowhere, just as we.pass a vote of no confidence on the FORMER Nation Chairman of our Movement, SWAGA, Adeyeye, for unbridled desperation and actions that have shown, in clear terms, that he is visionless, rudderless, uncoordinated and unprincipled; traits that are lethal and unproductive in fruitful, quality and efficient leadership.
To this end, we write to inform the Leadership of SWAGA that we no longer have confidence in the leadership of Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who we have found to be hobnobbing with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the state and in uncontrollable drive by ambition, is moving to the SDP, in another vain pursuit of public office.
We here restate our loyalty and commitment to the ideology of our Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We say an emphatic NO to the leadership of Prince Dayo Adeyeye, a serial electoral loser whose leadership will only render us confused as he is.
We know, without doubts that Prince Adeyeye’s political desperation will not bring anything good to our group than set back and electoral doom. We dissociate.
Thanks in anticipation of your prompt action
Ismail Lawal
