Bathiya Wesley Emerges New Speaker Of Adamawa 8th Assembly

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has elected and sworn in a new speaker, Bathiya Wesley.

The new Speaker was elected Tuesday morning and then sworn in shortly afterwards during the inaugural session of the Adamawa 8th Assembly.

Bathiya Wesley represents Hong constituency, within the same Adamawa Central Senatorial District, where the immediate past Speaker, Aminu Iya Abbas hails from

.Also sworn in at the House of Assembly Complex in Yola was the new deputy speaker, Buba Mohammed Jijiwa who represents Jada MMbulo State constituency of southern Adamawa.

Both speaker and deputy were elected unopposed.

The swearing-in of the principal officers of the Adamawa House of Assembly was conducted at the Assembly complex, Jimeta, Yola.

Speaking after the swearing Governor Fintiri congratulates the new elected speaker and the principal officers promise to work with them hand in hand for the betterment of the state, as the legislative are autonomous.
