Eleven state chapters of the APC have committed to delivering a total of 15.2 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The North Central zone is at the forefront, with the APC Forum pledging to secure six million votes in gratitude for President Tinubu’s choice to reinstate the party’s national chairmanship to their region.

The six North Central states: Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau, which is Yilwatda’s home state, made a commitment after Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda was appointed as the new APC National Chairman on Thursday.

Saleh Zazzaga, the chairman of the forum, expressed that the zone is now fully supportive of Tinubu’s bid for a second term, “President Bola Tinubu and the APC should have no concerns about North Central votes in 2027. The region is already in the bag. Our promise to deliver six million votes for the President is guaranteed.”

In Akwa Ibom, the APC announced its goal of obtaining 3.5 million votes, aiming to achieve three times the amount the President received in the 2023 election.

The party’s spokesperson stated that, “At the end of the registration process, we expect no less than 3.5 million votes for President Tinubu’s re-election.”

In Edo, the APC Publicity Secretary, Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, announced that Governor Monday Okpebholo committed to delivering 2.5 million votes for the President.

He said, “A strong membership base will make this target realisable. With mass defection from other parties, our membership is expected to quadruple. The other parties in the state are no longer in existence.”

The Benue APC aims to recruit five million members and has committed to securing two million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 election.

James Orngunga, the spokesman of the APC, said, “We will surpass our 2023 margin, which was narrowed by the Muslim-Muslim ticket controversy. The President’s support to our people has changed the narrative. He’ll win with a wide margin.”

In the South-West, the Oyo and Ekiti chapters have committed to delivering a total of 1.2 million votes.

Olawale Sadare, the spokesperson for Oyo’s APC, expressed their aim to secure over 800,000 votes for Tinubu in 2027, which is twice the amount achieved in the previous election.

He said, “We are aggressively mobilising through door-to-door, media, and social platforms. Our membership target in Oyo is between 220,000 and 250,000.”

In Ekiti, where Tinubu secured 201,494 votes in 2023, APC spokesperson Segun Dipe stated that the party intends to either double or even triple that figure.

He said, “We’re confident of at least 400,000 votes for the President in 2027. His performance and Governor Oyebanji’s delivery are already speaking for us.”
