Police Mop Up Firearms & Ammunition, Seized Hard Drugs In Lagos

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edgal Imohimi have paraded no fewer than 255 suspects allegedly deals on hard drugs.

The raid was carried out in their criminal hideouts at Akala-Mushin and Idi-Oro areas of the state metropolis.

The raid became pertinent because of  the brazen nature of criminals living amongst the people in the area.  It was said that the criminal elements in Akala area of Mushin attack residents and law enforcement officers with impunity.

Police boss ordered the raid of the identified criminal spot in Akala-Mushin and Idi-Oro, during the raid, the criminal elements resisted  police by hurling stones and different types of missiles at them, breaking windscreens of some vehicles parked on the roadsides.

It was after the attack by the hoodlums police arrested 255 suspects comprising of 246 males and 9 females, seizing 39 big bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and recovering of two pump action rifles and  ammunition in the process.

CP Edgal vows that theCommand will not rest until drug peddlers, crimes and criminality are rid out of the streets in Lagos state.

The Command hereby advises parents, guardians and stakeholders to warn their children and wards to stay off from crime activities and avoid mingling with the gangsters .

According to him, the raid will continue in all the places identified by police intelligence unit as blackspots and investigation of the suspected criminals has been concluded  and they have been charged to court with the collaboration of the Directorate of Public  Prosecution.
