YOUTH IN POLITICS: Yoruba Group Hails Buhari, Harps On Cost Of Electioneering As Barriers

The Yoruba Youth Socio-Cultural Association (YYSA) has praised Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Not Too Young To Run Bill into law.

The commendation was contained in a statement signed and made available to SECURITY MONITOR by the Ekiti State Coordinator of the group, Rowland Adewale Falade (Abalu’le Ado).

He stated that President Buhari’s government has made history by signing the bill into law.

“It will go a long way at encouraging youths participation in politics and governance. But, the bill can only serve its purpose if the old people in the system can step aside and give the Nigerian youth the needed support.”

“We are hardworking, vibrant and capable to govern this country, but to contest and win elections in Nigeria is too expensive and unaffordable for the majority of youth he said.

Therefore, YYSA implore well meaning Nigerians who believe in youth ability and competency to support youth to achieve their dreams.
