PICTURESQUE will henceforth feature researched works, articles and columns  of Dr. (Mrs.) Mercy Onaodowan Erhun, LL.B, B.L, LL.M, M.Phil (Law), Ph.D (Law), a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. It is every Monday tonic that explains topical issues as related to the social-economic and political significance of culture, native languages as well as other topical issues.

The Columnist, Dr. (Mrs.) Mercy O. Erhun received all her degrees (LL.B, LL.M, M.Phil and Ph. D) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She is an avid researcher and a seasoned lecturer with experience of over eleven years. She currently teaches Jurisprudence, The Nigerian Law of Torts, Administrative Law in Nigeria, among other subjects in the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She is also a practising lawyer, and she has been a member of the Nigerian Bar for over seventeen years. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association as well as the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers. She is also an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.

Erhun hails from Uvwie Local Government Area in Delta State. She is married to Prof. W.O. Erhun of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. And her marriage is blessed with four Children.

She is a lover of Culture and native Nigerian languages, and she feels that Culture and native Nigerian languages should be revived in Nigeria for sustainable development. She also believes that Nigerian native languages should be allowed to hold sway in Nigeria. She believes that Law, Culture, and Language could help in achieving sustainable development. She refers to herself as a “Culture and Language Revivalist”. One of her interests is geared towards the concept of “Sustainable Development” and how it can be achieved in the Nigerian society. Though a lawyer and a Law Lecturer/Teacher, she is a Socio-linguist at heart.
