How Boko Haram Kills Over 70 Soldiers In Metele Area of Borno State + Video
More revelation has emerged on how Boko Haram carried out the Monday attack on Nigerians Army. A Nigerian soldier who does not want his name in print said that “the attack came at about 6pm on Monday evening”.
“When the soldier on top of the observation post alerted that a large number of Boko Haram fighters were advancing, we all got alarmed as we took cover and waited within the base in Metele.
“The fight did not last for more than 45 minutes; but it was bloody because the Boko Haram fighters had more armament advantage that the soldiers.
“When we realised the fight would be against us, we decided to retreat from the camp, but it was rather too late. The camp was surrounded with barbed wire, and the enemy fire was coming from the direction of the entrance. We were like surrounded.
“One of the drivers of the gun trucks decided to push through the barbed wire so that other vehicles could follow and escape, but the truck got stuck, that was how many of our soldiers in other vehicles and those on foot were massacred.
“Those that managed to escape with injuries made it on foot through Cross-Kauwa to Monguno where they boarded commercial vehicles, some even sat in the booth of the Golf cars to get to Maiduguri.
“The Boko Haram made away with about seven gun trucks of the Nigeria army.
The senior non-commissioned military source said no fewer than 70 soldiers were killed while many others who were outgunned by the Boko Haram fighters had to flee.
Although, findings reveal this video is not the recent incident but SECURITY MONITOR gathers that obsolete equipment and lack of amunition is the major bane of the Nigerian army. It was revealled that Boko Haram are better equiped with Anti Aircraft (AA), General Purpose Machine Gun(GPMG) Anti Mortar and many other modern war gun while Nigerian soldiers carry AK and many other obsolete weapons.
A source within the Army hints SM that “sometimes we were given outdated amunition which failed us in the war front”
The source added that the terrorists were better equiped with Russiam made weapons while Nigerian soldiers were struggling to battle insurgents with Chinese made weapons.
In the last 2 years it is reported that the Buhari govt has paid over 15 million dollars (6 bilion Naira) to Boko haram in ransome payments technically making the Buhari govt the primary source of funds for the terror group today.
This ransome has been used by the terrorist group to acquire more weapons which are being used to slaythe country’s poorly funded troop.
“The worst is Buhari administration is playing politics with the lives of our fallen heroes and trying to always cover up their sacrifices is inexcusable.”
One soldier says the situation has worsened to the extent that the soldiers now take to their heels upon hearing boko boys are advancing.
Another one says they can only boast of having the capacity of defeating boko haram on paper,* they lack the ability to withstand them in the real sense.
the excuse of lack of fighting equipment by the NA or BH are better equipped then the NA are stories we’ve hard before the simple truth is men of the NA eithe lack courage or will to fight BH.retreat & regroup in other to re- engage the enimy in warfare is a known tactics but to run back to base for safty is outright cowardice
I disagree! If you are given an obsolete gun which jams when it should be hitting your target, while your opponent has advanced ammunition and well funded you’d better run. You will just be providing meat for the vultures if you remain.
Retreat/regroup tactics don’t work in a place where your morale is destroyed by corrupt men who are sent with your basic sustenance but you never get it.
They fleece the FG of billions of dollars on your behalf but is not used to equip you. You are either a fool to stake your head, or it’s you’ve been wishing for suicide.
