PROF. AKINDELE VS MONICA OSAGIE: WHO IS THE BEST LOSER?

Welcome to Nigeria where everything happens in style. Just like a movie, the scene started with a telephone conversation between Professor Akindele and his student, Monica Osagie. From the leaked voice note that littered the four corners of the country, one would realised that their conversation was intentionally recorded by Monica in order to expose the Prof. Anyway, the deed is done and the Prof has already started serving his jail term. How about Monica Osagie ?

I believe Osagie would be doing fine and healthy with her family. Anyone might have seen Monica as a devil, I have never seen her as one for once. She might be encouraged by her friends for the set up but the fact still remains that she was never the cause of Prof Akindele’s woe. The Prof brought the woe upon himself not to have sensed a conspiracy during the conversation. Well, All days for a thief but one day is for the owner.
Surprisingly, the court hearings and judgment was swift. The Prof was found guilty and justice was done within short period of time. If this is how our judiciary system woks, Nigeria would have been a better place for slaves and the freeborn. But I wonder what went wrong with Evans ‘the kidnapper’ case till now. Is he still under investigation? I wonder what is delaying the prosecution of Offa robbery culprits till this moment. We only heard about the death of their gang leader who happens to be a dismissed officer and the rest has been a story. That is a story for another day.

As regards to Professor Akindele’s ordeal, no one is a saint when it comes to having an affairs with female students in Nigeria tertiary institutions. Ninety-nine percent of the lecturers in our tertiary institutions can never step out boldly to claim innocent. Of course, there is no big deal once the affairs is mutual between the two parties without enforcement. In fact, some female students prefer to haunt lecturers because of the benefits and other attachments. That’s not a new thing. Had it been that Prof affairs with Monica was mutual, everything would have gone beneath spiral of silence. But I wonder why Prof engaged himself in do or fail affairs when there are thousands of ladies on campus if at all there is need to cheat on his wife. The Prof had forgotten that not all ripe fruits taste sweet, some are ripe with sour taste. The sour ones would never mind to destroy someone else’s taste organs.
It is pitiable that Prof had never seen Monica’s pant. A mere proclamation on phone landed him in eternal stigma. Just because of five times sex romp, the prof had dashed out his job and career. His integrity and virtuousness had flown to exile and now, he has become an object of ridicule in his academic and physical environment while Monica would remain a point of reference.
Ironically, Prof Akindele might demanded for five times sex romp from Monica without actually having the intention of doing that. Whatever, the Prof remains the best

loser and his travail would serve as big lesson to our lecturers in Nigeria tertiary institutions who exchange sex for mark.
Emphatically, not all ripe fruits taste sweet, some are ripe with sour taste. A lesson learnt from Professor Akindele Vs Monica’s scene of sex-capade. Tell the sex for mark lecturers to keep it up…their nemesis days shall count.
