Ortom Bags Outstanding Governor of the Year Award

The Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom on Saturday, 19th January, 2019 received an award for standing out in the area of Solidarity with the Benue People Against All Odds.

The award which was conferred on him by DAAR communications plc, owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Ray Power FM at the 3rd DAAR Awards, held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja was in line with one of the key roles of the media in maintaining an upward progressive society and create sustainability by applauding the architects of growth at all levels.

A statement by the organizers of the award says the award was to celebrate individuals in the society who have made their work to be exemplary and ought to be celebrated by the works they have done; the positive influence they have imparted; their drive to be symbols of excellence as Nigerians and the lives they have touched in the process.

The choice of Governor Ortom for the award was arrived at after series of evaluations of his performance in the discharge of his duty to position Benue State and defend the state against all odds.

Receiving the award, Governor Ortom who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Terwase Orbunde expressed appreciation to DAAR Communications Plc for recognizing his little efforts in standing with his people.

Ortom who dedicated the award to God and the people of Benue State for standing by him through thick and thin expressed his commitment to lives and properties and the general wellbeing of the people of Benue State, saying the award will spur him to do more.
