Gov. Bello Charges Electorates On Peaceful Conduct In Saturday Polls

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has urged the people of the state to eschew all forms of violence by conducting themselves peacefully in this weekend’s State House of Assembly election.
The call was contained in a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Hon. Muhammed Onogwu and copied to the media.
Governor, according to the statement said no society could witness any form of development in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony, noting that peaceful coexistence was a panacea to socioeconomic advancement.
He said this Saturday’s election in which electorate in Kogi State would only select legislators into the state House of Assembly serves as an opportunity for the people to exercise their franchise.
The Governor who applauded the people of the state for their overall conduct during February 23 Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the state, expressed regret for one death that was recorded and described it as regrettable.
While applauding security agencies for their exemplary roles in the nation’s polity, he called on them to assist the electoral process by protecting both electoral materials and the citizens during the exercise.
