LIRS Directs Staff To Disobey SanwoOlu’s Order Over Corona Virus
By Kayode Adeyemo/LAGOS// In what appears as a total disobedience to the State government directive, the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, LIRS has compelled its staff to resume and carry out their normal duties. An internal memo issued to all staff depicts that LIRS will not obey the directive by the state governor, Babajide SanwoOlu who ordered skeletal work over the coronal virus pandemic:

RE: COVID-19 FLEXI WORK – SOCIAL DISTANCING IN THE WORK PLACE
Further to the updated cases of COVID-19, a memo was issued by the Head of Service instructing that officers GL 12 and below should work from home for the next two weeks effective 23rd of March, 2020.
Please be reminded that the Agency is considered an essential service and Management has been given the discretion to determine the pattern of staff attendance at this time.
Details of this will be communicated shortly. In the interim, all staff are expected to report for duty as normal.
