Ojodu Woman Assault: Right Group Warns Against Cover Up
The transition committee in Ifo local government and his team have been enjoined to ensure due diligence and proper prosecution of the official of the council in a video beating a woman for violating the lockdown order of the state government.
The admonition was given on Monday in Lagos by centre Against Injustice and domestic violence (CAIDOV) in a press release signed by the executive director,Comrade Gbenga Soloki,stressing that any attempt to cover up the violence will be resisted by the group and others.
The group urged the chairman of the local government ,not to only suspend the salary of the officials concerned , but should ensure they are made to face the full wrath of the law in order to serve as deterrent to others with such attitude.
According to the CAIDOV boss,”the unfortunate incident should be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. The authorities should ensure such occurrence is not swept under the carpet. “
