7 Staff Retires From NOA In Lagos As Agency Holds Send Forth Partry
As part of a yearly programme to always celebrate their own, the management and staff of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Lagos Directorate on Friday the 4th of December, 2020, held a send-forth party for seven (7) of her retiring staff at the State Headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos. This year’s event was with a great difference because it had in attendance the Director-General of the Agency, Dr. Garba Abari and two other Directors from the headquarters who were in Lagos for an official event.
Welcoming the retirees and their families, the Director-General (DG) commended management and staff of Lagos Directorate for the spirit of oneness and family of purpose in organizing such a befitting send-forth for those moving into a new phase of life in retirement. He used the occasion to clear the issue of November salary delay, the just concluded promotion examination and the need to upgrade in training capacity of staff even as he promised to fix or provide a new work vehicle for the directorate because of its centrality. He further congratulated all staff for the achievement of the Agency. He said, with a sense of pride that the Agency was singled out by the Government for performing exceptionally well in the COVID-19 exercise. He therefore urged management and staff of the Agency to continue to re-dedicate themselves to job ethics as there is light at the tunnel.
Earlier in his speech, the State Director, NOA Lagos Directorate, Mr. Waheed Ishola noted that the sent-forth is the 9th to be held, a legacy he instituted for the wellbeing of all staff. He took time to eulogies the retirees, one after the other, thanking God for their good health and disposition. Retirement he said is not a curse or punishment but a time set aside for one to rest and enjoy his labour having worked tirelessly for a number of years. He urged them to face their future endeavours with a relaxed mind of peace because the agency would still seek their experiences in the scheme of things.
Responding on behalf of other retirees, the former Deputy Director, Admin and Human Resources, Mrs. Aderonke Jacobs thanked management and staff for deeming it fit and necessary to organize such a befitting sent-forth party for them. She noted that their houses are open and they are ever willing and ready to contribute and assist whenever called upon.
Highpoint of the event was the farewell speeches by members of staff and presentation of quality gifts like deep-freezers, 3.5kva Generating sets, solid musical sets amongst others purchased from money contributed by management and staff.
