In a move gear towards an improved economic development, the six southwest Governors are planning to bridge transportation barriers in the region. Few days ago, Governor Sanwoolu of Lagos state facilitated a “Strategic Meeting on Southwest Rail Infrastructure” among the six governors of the zone.

The agenda of the meeting was to harness the new law signed by PBAT that allows states to build and manage their own railway system.

According to the communique released by DAWN Commission, the governors believe that the project is very feasible and therefore proposed that the commissioners for Transportation of the 6 states meet regularly to come up with a plan which must take into consideration the existing rail lines of the FG as soon as possible.
