LASU DECLARES CHRISTMAS BREAK AMIDST STAFF STRIKE
By Olayiwola Ibrahim // Lagos State University LASU, Senate has declared Monday, 9th December 2024 and 5th January 2025 as Christmas and New Year break amidst staff strike action.
The school announced that all university activities, including lectures and socio academic events, will resume on Monday, 6th January 2025.
The announcement urged all students residing in the university’s hostels across all campuses Ojo, LASUCOM, Epe and Badagry to vacate the hostels within 48 hours, starting from 8:00 a.m. on Monday, 9th December 2024.
The university’s Joint Action Committee JAC, of the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, which includes the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities SSANU, the Non Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions NASU, and the National Association of Academic Technologists NAAT, had declared an indefinite strike over low salary payments on Friday.
