FORMER NIGERIAN MIDFIELDER, SEGUN ODEGBAMI DIES AT 62

By Olayiwiola Ibrahim // Former Nigerian international footballer Henry Nwosu has died at the age of 62 after several days in hospital.

The death of the former midfielder was announced on Saturday, March 14, 2026, by his former teammate Segun Odegbami, a member of Nigeria’s victorious squad at the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations.

Odegbami revealed that Nwosu died in the early hours of the morning after spending five days receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos.

After 5 days in hospital battling for his life, the one I call Youngest Millionaire’ passed on at 4:00 am this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos where he had been in Intensive Care since Wednesday.
