Dr. Jeffrey Kuraun, a governorship aspirant in Benue State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the party’s presidential primary, describing the result as a reaffirmation of internal democracy and public confidence in the president’s leadership.

In a congratulatory message issued on Monday, Dr. Kuraun said Tinubu’s “resounding and well-deserved” win — which saw the president secure the party’s flag bearer position for the 2027 general election — demonstrated that “internal democracy is alive and thriving” within the APC. He praised the primary as transparent, peaceful and credible.

“Your emergence once again confirms the confidence Nigerians and APC members have in your visionary leadership, courageous economic reforms, and unwavering commitment to repositioning our nation on the path of sustainable growth and prosperity under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Kuraun said in the statement.

Kuraun, who vyied for the APC ticket for Benue State governor, said he was proud to identify with the president’s administration and urged party faithful to rally behind Tinubu’s bid for a second term. He argued that another mandate would allow the consolidation of economic transformation, infrastructure projects, education financing, food security and energy reforms initiated during Tinubu’s first term.

Highlighting achievements he said were notable over the past three years, Kuraun pointed to economic restructuring, fiscal reforms, and the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as policy milestones that inspired “hope and confidence” about Nigeria’s future.

On behalf of his supporters, Kuraun wished the president “greater wisdom, strength, and divine guidance” as he leads the party into the 2027 election season.

The APC primary, held earlier this month, returned President Tinubu as the party’s standard-bearer for next year’s election. Party officials reported high participation from delegates and framed the exercise as evidence of party unity, while opposition parties and observers continue to assess the implications of Tinubu’s candidacy for the wider national political landscape.

Dr. Kuraun’s statement positions him among APC stakeholders in the North Central region aligning publicly with Tinubu ahead of the 2027 campaign period, signaling continued party consolidation ahead of gubernatorial and national contests.
