By Olayiwiola Ibrahim // The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has confirmed the death of a commercial mini bus driver in a fatal multiple-vehicle accident that occurred today at Cele inward Oshodi, Lagos.

The crash involved a commercial Korokpe mini bus and a Toyota Tundra pickup truck with registration number EPE 554 YC.

Preliminary reports from security personnel at the scene indicate that the mini bus driver suffered severe injuries and died instantly on impact.

LASTMA officers on routine traffic monitoring duty responded immediately.

They secured the accident scene, coordinated emergency response, managed traffic, and prevented further obstruction along the busy corridor.

Working with officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Cele-Ijesha Division, LASTMA operatives recovered the driver’s remains and handed them over to family members living nearby.

To restore normal traffic flow and ensure public safety, LASTMA personnel evacuated all wreckage and accident-involved vehicles from the road.

The vehicles have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation into the cause of the crash and to determine liability.

Despite the initial disruption, LASTMA’s swift intervention and traffic management strategies helped restore free vehicular movement along the affected route.

The General Manager of LASTMA has expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

He also urged motorists, especially commercial drivers, to drive with caution, obey traffic laws, and adopt responsible driving habits at all times.
