Like Yahaya Bello, Like Gov Ododo, Barr. Jatto Dedicates Award to Kogi State
Kogi State Coordinator of Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi Arid Landscape (ACReSAL), Barrister Ladi Ahmed Jatto (OON), says the National Award bestowed on her by the Bureau of Public Service Reform The Presidency , was in recognition of the efforts and devotions of the Kogi State Government from 2016 to date, towards community development.
Barrister Ladi Ahmed Jatto who stated this in a telephone conversation with newsmen in Lokoja said the state has benefited a lot through seamless transition and continuity of programs from a well structured aproach.
She explained that ACReSAL, a World Bank Assisted Projects have been realized through counterpart funding sustained by Kogi State Government.
According to her, despite the existence of the project it only became effective from 2016.
She praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for sustaining programs and policies of his predecessor noting that the honor equally belongs to entire Kogi women, Team ACReSAL, and the entire public officers .
Barrister Ladi Ahmed Jatto said in a male dominated society, the recognition of women who distinguished themselves in their chosen careers is indeed a pointer to win/win aproach and gender balance.
Her words; ” I give God the glory for the positive recognition on Institutional Performance and Service Delivery. I must candidly say it is the validation of the commitment made by the State Government. The Award serves as a motivating factor to work harder, to be more committed and focused. I want women in general to adopt such virtues to attain excellence. Through the recognition, Kogi is more trusted, it informs the citizens, partners and investors that Kogi State can plan execute and deliver . there is more open doors for collaboration at both domestic and international level. This is not the first time, the state has one time gotten a Certificate of Credence from World Bank though prudent management of funds. World Bank project belongs to Kogi people. It is a loan and the state must sign up for it. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has maintained a giant stride to assess the intervention for the good people of the state through payment of counterpart fund. Their efforts towards making life better for the people of the state is commendable. Hopeless ecological situations have been restored and several lives touched through NEWMAP and ACREeSAL.
On expectations ahead of the year, the State Coordinator stressed that there will be close monitoring of projects which spread across the three Senatorial Districts.
She further noted that three out of the six years allotted for the program has passed noting that efforts will be channeled towards sustenability of the projects initiated particularly afforestation through planting of economic trees, management of water resources, erosion control, restoration of degraded lands and advocacy towards achieving Smart Agricultural System among others.
