Hajia ๐—ก๐—ฎ๐—ท๐—ฎ’๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜‚ Mohammed has again accused former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff of playing a role in the early rise of Boko Haram, alleging that the group was initially used for political purposes before growing beyond anyone’s control.

Speaking during a public event, Naja’atu claimed that Sheriff created and supported the group while serving as governor of Borno State but later lost control of it as the insurgency expanded. She also questioned why he continues to play an active role in Nigerian politics despite the allegations against him. These allegations are not new, and Sheriff has consistently denied having any link to Boko Haram.

Naja’atu further criticised those defending the former governor, arguing that religion and tribal politics have prevented many Nigerians from demanding accountability over the issue.

Her remarks have sparked fresh debate on social media, with supporters and critics expressing different views. Previous allegations linking Sheriff to Boko Haram have remained politically controversial for years, but no court has found him guilty of creating or sponsoring the terrorist group, and he has repeatedly rejected the claims.
