POCACOV LAGOS POLICE, APAPA IGANMU LCDA SENSITIZE TRANSPORT WORKERS AND TRADERS ON DANGERS OF DRUG ABUSE, CULTISM AND ELECTION VIOLENCE

By Olayiwola Ibrahim // Lagos // The Lagos State Police Command, through the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices POCACOV, in partnership with Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area LCDA, on organized a sensitisation forum for transport operators, traders and community stakeholders.

The programme which held at the Apapa Iganmu LCDA Secretariat focused on raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, cultism, and election-related violence, and promoting peaceful coexistence within the community.

Representing the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, the Area Commander, Area B Command, ACP Onyinyechi Onwuamaegbu, addressed participants.

She charged transport operators and traders to reject all forms of criminal activities and uphold lawful behavior.

ACP Onwuamaegbu noted that transport workers and market leaders play a critical role in maintaining peace and security.

She called on them to work closely with the Police by sharing prompt and reliable information, and by ensuring that their parks, garages and markets are not used as hideouts for criminal elements.

The event also featured goodwill messages from the Executive Chairman of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Divisional Police Officers within the area, and other stakeholders.

All speakers emphasized the need for collective action to fight crime and to sustain peace and development in Apapa Iganmu and across Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed that POCACOV will continue to engage communities, schools, and markets to discourage youths and adults from social vices, while building stronger police-community relations.
