By Olayiwola Ibrahim // Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has moved to calm tensions surrounding his recent disagreement with Lagos State lawmaker Desmond Elliot, declaring that the actor-turned-politician remains “one of us” and part of the political family.
Speaking at an event in Lagos, Gbajabiamila urged all parties to put their differences behind them and unite for the progress and development of Surulere.
According to him, the disagreement should not be allowed to destroy existing relationships, insisting that everyone must move forward together as one Surulere.
“Desmond Elliot remains one of us and part of the family. What is done is done. And we must all move forward as one Surulere,” Gbajabiamila said.
The President’s Chief of Staff also cautioned individuals allegedly using his name to defraud unsuspecting members of the public, warning that anyone involved would eventually face the law.
Gbajabiamila further dismissed attempts to distract or intimidate him through blackmail, falsehoods or financial inducement, maintaining that such tactics would not prevent him from performing his responsibilities or carrying out the mandate entrusted to him by President Tinubu.
Speaking on political loyalty, he cited his longstanding relationship with Tinubu, noting that there had been occasions when the President made political decisions that did not favour him personally.
Despite such moments, he said, he remained loyal and never betrayed the trust placed in him.
Gbajabiamila stressed that loyalty remains a critical pillar of political relationships, reaffirming his commitment to President Tinubu while calling for unity among political stakeholders in Surulere.
