Alleged N13million gratification: Activist sworn to an Affidavit affirming attempt to bribe Ogun Judge
A renown activist and Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and
Social Justice (CHRSJ), Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman has sworn to
an affidavit to affirm the allegation of attempt to bribe the
Presiding Judge, Justice S.M. Owodunni of the Ipokia High Court
division with sum of #13million to pervert the course of justice by
the defendants through its counsel in a Chieftaincy case with the
suit No: HCL/31/2016, between Prince Emmanuel Olabimtan &ors and
Chief Oke Adeyeye in respect of Ihunbo Chieftaincy declaration of 1956
where order of rotation were spelt out, saying that defendants’
action were contrary to the Law of the land as stipulated in section
15(5) of the amended 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria
and sections 98 &99 of the criminal code law of the federation.
According to the 13 paragraphs sworn affidavit dated May 10th,2017
deposed to, before an Ikeja High Court, Lagos State by Comrade
Sulaiman maintained that he had the directive of his human rights
organization, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ)
to depose to the affidavit, declaring that he was acted in consonance
with the request of the Ogun State Chief Judge through his Judicial
Assistant Officer (JAO), Mr. Timilehin Tayo in Letter dated Tuesday
25th April, 2017 with Ref No: CJ/C.1/Vol.VII/54 which was received on
Thursday 4th May, 2017 in respect of our earlier Petition dated 20th
April, 2017.
The Sworn Affidavit with Covering Letter was sent to Ogun State Chief
Judge, Hon. Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, CON as being requested, which
a copy was made available to newsmen on Monday, disclosed that the
human rights organization(CHRSJ) acted in accordance with the section
15 sub-section 5 and section 24 sub-section (e) of the 1999
Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(as amended) that
corrupt tendency and abuse of power should be abrogated and abolished
in our Country, pleading with the Chief Judge of Ogun State not to
allow the notorious criminal mentioned in the affidavit to
circumscribe and scrimmage the sagacious and sagacity of the true
justice, truth, fairness and rule of Law by ensuring justice for the
parties in the matter.
Meanwhile, Justice Owodunni has fixed Tuesday May 16th, 2017 for the
ruling on the application of the defendant in the suit, praying the
Court for striking out of the case, while the rights group urged the
Court to treat the matter on merit, stressing that as a Leader of the
Human Rights organization (CHRSJ) that wrote the earlier Petition
dated Monday 27TH MARCH, 2017 reporting Mr. Michael Adekanbi Akinola
(a.k.a Aro), Mr. Titus Babajide (a.k.a. Oppressor), Mr. Fatai Isiaka,
Mr. Ayo Akinola, ACP Samuel Titus (ACPOL), one Mr. Sunday Olamide
Joseph (Adesiyan) and host of others to the Police authority in Abuja
over their criminal conspiracy in burning of ancient Onihunbo palace
at the eve of their purported installation of One Sunday Olamide
Joseph as monarch of Ihunbo in defiance to judicial process.
The part of affidavit read thus; “Our human rights organization
(CHRSJ) embarked on radical investigation in a view to conduct an
independent research and findings (IR&F) on the tragic-shocking and
saddening of what happened in the Court on Tuesday 4th April, in order
to authenticate the veracity of this empherical report. That our CHRSJ
officials had caught Mr. Michael Adekanbi Akinola (a.k.a Aro), Mr.
Titus Babajide (a.k.a. Oppressor), Mr. Fatai Isiaka, Mr. Ayo Akinola,
ACP Samuel Titus (ACPOL) and one Mr. Sunday Olamide Joseph (Adesiyan)
red- handed on Wednesday 5th April, 2017 around 3.47pm at the one
Ajibola Oil & Gas Nig. Ltd Petrol/Filling Station, Ogosha Town,
Ajegunle area, along Idiroko Federal Road, Ogun State.
“That the aforementioned names held a meeting at the aforementioned
day and time by earmarking the sum of N12million to N13million to
systematically bribe the Presiding Judge, Justice S.M. Owodunni of
High Court of Justice, Ipokia Judicial division in a suit No:
HCL/31/2016 BETWEEN PRINCE EMMANUEL OLABIMTAN & ORS AND CHIEF OKE
ADEYEYE & ORS, so as to deliver the ruling in their favour or striking
out of the matter on Ihunbo Chieftaincy Declaration of 1956 and the
aforementioned people are planning to send the unwanted gift to
Justice S.M. Owodunni through the defendant Lawyer to pervert the
course of justice on the case
Justice will surely prevail. Whoever joins hand in destroying Ihunbo through oppression, corruption or violence will never know peace.
