Physical Education Molds Minds and Body, says Kogi Edu. Commissioner Tolorunleke
Mr Tolorunleke gave the advice while declaring open the sports event at Egeda- Egga in Ijumu Local Government of the state.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Executive Director, Science Technology and Technical Education Board, Mrs Agnes Akpata said physical education is beneficial to the development of mind and body adding that , it create avenue for students to learn various sports which can as well promote unity and social interactions.
He expressed appreciation to the principal and the management staff of the institution for organising regular evening games and advised students to take sports activities serious as it could afford them their daily living in years ahead.
In a remark, the principal of the institution, Mr Silvanus Oluwole who explained that the era of seeing sports as a waste of time is fading away in human history noted that sports have provided a platform for financial success.
Mr Oluwole appealed to government and philanthropists to generously donate sports equipment to enhance sporting activities in the state.
Similarly, the Chair of the occassion, Elder Ekunayo Tolorunleke urged the students to develop their talents in sports as it has produced world billionaires and celebrities.
The event which featured Match pass. and tracks events has Green House maintaining the first position with Blue, Red, and Yellow successively.
