PDP Chides Amaechi, Abe for Abandon Projects in Gokana

As the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike commissions the Kpopie-Bodo road and street lights in Gokana Local Government Area today, Monday, May 22, 2017, the Chairman, Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah, has joined other well meaning patriotic citizens of the State in thanking the Governor for taking away the pains and anguish the abandoned road had caused the people of the area.

The PDP Chairman, Bro Obuah earnestly rejoiced with the people of Gokana and indeed the Ogoni Ethnic Nationality over this historic and significant development in the area, describing the construction of the Kpopie – Bodo Road and installation of street lights on the road as an initiative that would attract economic and social life to the area.

Bro Obuah commended the people for their resilience and continued support for the Wike administration in the face of persistent intimidation, attacks and denial by some of their sons in the name of politics.

He particularly expressed sadness over the abandonment of the said road by Mr. Magnus Abe, a native of the area, after being awarded and paid almost the full contractual amount for the construction of the Kpopie-Bodo road, including drainage system, describing Mr. Abe’s action as unpatriotic, dishonest, and an economic sabortage.

Bro Obuah noted that if the Amaechi administration had felt the plight of the people of Gokana and other users of that road it would have ensured that Mr. Abe used the money given to him for the road project appropriately thereby averting the untold hardship the people had to contend with in using the single major route from the Saakpenwa- Bori road into Gokana LGA.

The PDP Chairman again commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for rescuing the people, wondering why an indigene of the area will deliberately make his kith and kin go through such pain, even when the commissioned road passes through his home town and in front of his family house.

“Politics should not be played with development and issues of security and the economic wellbeing of the people”, Obuah noted, assuring that PDP-led government in the State will continue to take development of the State as a priority and without discrimination.

He believed and reiterated that all parts of the State will witness unprecedented positive development in all sectors by ‘Mr. Project’, in the coming days in the life of his (Wike) administration in Rivers State
