HAMBURGER: Musliu Akinsanya alias MC Must be Tried, says Oshodi Residents
If the information at the disposal of SECURITY MONITOR is anything to go by, then security agencies need to be proactive to forestall another round of bloody clashes in Oshodi, the centre of metropolitan Lagos. The police particularly need to, as a matter of urgency, institute legal actions against Musliu Akinsanya (A.K.A MC) who was the alleged masterminds of the murder of Razak Bello popularly referred to as Hamburger. The search for the alleged primary suspect, Samson Agbetoye, notoriously known as Golden who is said to be at large must also be intensified.
Hamburger was the chairman of Motorcycles and tricycles Riders Union in Lagos. He was gruesomely killed on the 29th day of May, 2017 in Shogunle during the primary election exercise of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC. His death brought tears and sorrow to the Shogunle and Ladipo communities where the deceased was born. The grief that followed Hamburger’s death thrown the entire Oshodi into turmoil for days as security operatives battle to foil reprisal attacks.
Though, the murder occurred at a political gathering, the characters involved were the key figures of the transport union, particularly the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW). This compelled the Lagos state Government to suspend the activities of the transport union in Oshodi. “Nothing will come out of the police investigation into Hamburger’s murder”, A sympathizer of the late Hamburger quoted the famous M.C (Musliu Akinsaya) to have said upon returning to Oshodi few days after the incidence. It was learnt that MC’s body language and incessant posture that “one of his enemies has been permanently silenced” irritate some other union workers. The very reason Oshodi may be boiled again if prevent measures were not put in place.
It was an attempt to forestall renewed crisis in Oshodi and its environs that the residents of Saka Street, Olori Street, Yekinni Street, Tiwalade Street, Ago Owu and other neighboring streets in a joint petition, dated June 14, 2017 to the Inspector General of Police, IGP urge the police authority to ensure justice is done over the killing of the late Hamburger. Under the banner of TEMIDIRE DVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION, the residents affirmed that “Samson Agbetoye –GOLDEN, Tunde Adebayo, A.K.A Mufutau Alawoki, A.K.A Authority and their followers were the killers of the late Bello – HAMBURGER”.
The petition also reads that “We are aware the perpetrators who were at large were engineered by Chief Musliu Akinsanya – MC who is now back in Oshodi boasting around that nothing will come out of any investigation into the murder”.
The C.D.A noted that, “the contribution of the diseased to our community was enormous and this cannot be swept under the carpet”. The community leaders lamented that HAMBURGER touches so many lives and it is taking such a great efforts from the elders of the community to pacify the youth from taking reprisal actions.
They pray that the IGP use his good office to ensure that “the full weight of the law be brought against the perpetrators and the sponsor of the heinous crime”.
Simultaneously, the family of the late HAMBURGER has engaged a renowned legal practitioners M. A Bello, esq on the murder case and their counsel on 14th June petitions and solicits the IGP interest at unraveling the killers of the dastard crime.
A stich in time saves nine, it will be just natural that appropriate actions be taking to forestall break down of law and order.
