Yahaya Bello Never Joke With Security of Kogi State, says Com. Omodara

By Ola Simon/ Criminal minded individuals have been told to vacate Kogi state or live to regret the ugly consequences of their nefarious activities.

Seurity Adviser to Kogi State Governor, Retired Naval Commodore Jerry Omodara gave the warning while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja.

He said security remains an area the state government will never joke with and advises men of the underworld to change their ways or be ready to face the full weight of the law.

According to him, the state has witnessed a tremendous improvement in the area of security noting that s unique approach to combat crime will soon be unveiled.

He explained that Information/ Communication Technologies will be utilised through mobile download of application that will expose, prevent crime and criminality.

The Governor’s security aide maintained the the policy to demolish criminal hideout remain valid and advises the people to report suspicious person to avoid such situation.

He assured that the information received will be treated with confidentiality adding that the state government will compensate individual with useful information to prevent crime and security breach with five hundred thousand Naira.

Speaking on the crime rate in the state, Retired Commodore Omodara said over fifty percent of criminal activities occurred in Okene which necessitated the State Government to construct a forward operation base for the army I’m the area which will be commissioned by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai tomorrow.

He advised the youths to key into government’s empowerment programmes to avoid taking unnecessary risk to survive.

On the State Vigilante Group, the Security Adviser assured that an approval for the recruitment of three thousand men have been granted to compliment the efforts of other security agencies.
