Ex Lawmaker Makinde demands for compensation over House Demolition
WHILE monitoring the ongoing house demolition at Alagbole/ Ajuwon area of Ojodu Berger, the boundary communities between Lagos and Ogun state Governor Ibikunle Amosun met one on one with the aggrieved former House of Representatives member, Hon Rotimi Makinde at his site this morning.
“The building has to go”. Governor Said. Makinde who was physically present was quick to react that “I can see the inevitable of the circumstances and as a public person I can’t but brace up for the reality and to beg the conscience of the governor to ensure compensation.
Amosun who was accompanied by some of his cabinet members including Honourable Sola Lawal who introduce the governor to Honourable Rotimi Makinde during the tour never responded to this demand but affirmed the decision to pull down the gigantic building.
Meanwhile, the building belonging to Makinde was previously marked 6 meters but later extended to 18 meters in what the state government admitted as flaws but has to be adjusted in the best interest of the public.
But I believe the lawmaker should insist on an answer from the governor whether he will compensate or not.
May be
that is a story for another day as the governor left on that day without responding to Hon. Makinde’s request
