Veteran Nollyhood actor and Special Adviser to the Kwara state governor Abdulfatah Ahmeed on Arts, Culture and Tourism, Femi Adebayo has disclosed that his ongoing cinema project which is been shot on locations within the state is to project the many inherent talents in the state.
In a telephone interview with Security Monitor, Adebayo of the famed Jelili flick who confirmed that he is presently on location for ‘Diamonds in the Sky’ stated that the project is aimed at promoting Kwara talents.
Femi Adebayo who disclosed that LEAH Foundation is the executive producer of the movie said, “fantastic actors like Joke Sliva, Oga Bello, Toyin AIMAKHU, Bimbo Akintola, Yemi Sodimu, Olaiya Igwe, my humble self, Omowumi Dada and a host of others will feature in the movie.
“It is a cinema project like you rightly said and it addresses some social ills in the society. As you are well aware, LEAH Foundation has been in the forefront of the battle against cervical and breast cancer in this state. So this project is to highlight their campaign.
“LEAH Foundation is the executive producer of the movie. We believe that the movie will further educate the general public on the evil of breast and cervical cancer, the risk and prevention of these diseases is our target.
“The First Lady has made it so easy for women in Kwara state to get tested for breast and cervical cancer. There are screening centers all over Kwara state and we need to further enlighten our people on this.
“However, as an artiste we see this as an opportunity to also showcase the beauty and talents of Kwara and Kwarans to the outside world. we are giving Kwara artistes the opportunity to operate on a higher platform and rob shoulders with their colleagues from outside the state.”
Adebayo further disclosed that after ‘Diamonds in the Sky’ the ‘Survival of Jelili’ is next. He clarified that he is shooting ‘Survival of Jelili’ and not ‘Return of Jelili’ as been wrongly bandied around.
He said, “Presently we are shooting ‘Diamonds in the Sky’ by his grace we will be shooting ‘Survival of Jelili’ in December, both will be shot in locations within Kwara state.
The executive governor of the state has mandated that we leverage on what we have to ensure that we develop talents of Kwara artistes. And that is exactly what these is all about.”
