Kogi Transport Company Rewards Staff As Bello Assured of Govt. Support
By Ola Simon,LOKOJA/The Chairman of Kogi State Transport Company, Mr Ademola Bello, has assured of Government’s commitment to reward staff who have positively distinguished themselves at their duty post.
Me Bello stated this while presenting gift items to some staff of Kogi Express in commemoration of their one year anniversary in Lokoja.
He said the gesture was to appreciate God and Governor Yahaya Bello for revamping the transport sector which has been grounded for ten years.
“Kogi Express has got a new lease of life and it is my believe that it will never go down again. The transport sector is crucial to the survival of any society. Government venturing into the sector has benefited the society in so may ways. We generate revenue, employment and satisfy our customers with quality services. Today being the first year anniversary, we are thanking God for the journey so far and to appreciate our customers and staff with a token from his Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello”. He said
In their remarks, the Chaplain of the Government House, Pastor Henry Asaraku and the Chief Imam of Adankolo Mosque, Alhaji Alimi Basir, who prayed for Governor Yahaya Bello and the members of his cabinet described the revamp of the transport sector as one of the major achievements of the present administration.
They urged the people of the state to be supportive of the present administration in its bids to transform and sanitise the system.
Similarly in her remark, Mrs Agnes Magi who spoke on behalf of the passengers, said she was thrilled to use the government transport sector because of the comparative advantage it has over others particularly in sticking to the time of departure as well as the transport fare which is relatively cheaper than others.
She however appealed to the state government to provide more buses to enable the sector extend its services to Jos and other parts of the country.
Those rewarded by Kogi Express include, the best Ticketer, Mr. Daniel Jonah, The Best Staff, Mr. Ademola Olatunji and Mr. Issah Adoke who was presented the best driver’s award.
Passengers aboard Kogi Express were also offered refreshment to mark the occasion.
